2023 Scholarship Recipients
Benjamin Roth - a dedicated student from Bureau Valley High School received a $1,000 TOO GOOD TO PASS Scholarship on 4/25/2023.
Ben will attend his postsecondary education at Iowa State University.

"When I go to Iowa State, I plan to study history and extend my education past four years.
When I graduate, my plan is to work on a college campus as a history professor or work in a museum.
When the time is right, I want to start a family and purchase a home out in the Midwest.
While the Midwest has its fair share of negatives, I enjoy the people here.
They are kind, generous and hard working which is different than anywhere else in the country. I want to buy enough land for kids to run around in and a dog."
Izabel Wallace, a student from Bureau Valley High School received a $1,000 TOO GOOD TO PASS Scholarship on 4/25/2023.
Izabel was accepted at the University of Northern Iowa.
"I will be attending the University of Northern Iowa in the fall of 2023 as an elementary
education major.
UNI has one of the best teacher education programs in the United States, and I will benefit greatly from their teachings.
Throughout high school, staying involved through sports, extracurricular activities,
and service opportunities has been crucial to my overall success.
I plan to continue this streak in college. I will be active in the honors community,
and I will stay
involved through school-sponsored events."
Dale Faber, a student from Bureau Valley High School received a $1,000 TOO GOOD TO PASS Scholarship on 4/25/2023.

"I have a love for music and am looking to use that in my career.
My band director opened my eyes to the opportunities in music and all that I can accomplish.

My goal as an educator is to be the best teacher I can be
for all of my students.
Starting in fifth grade we tested instruments, and I could remember being eager to try them. I took a liking toward the trombone and the saxophone. Over the years of my playing, I have come to love music more and more.
Music has come naturally to me, but I have much more to learn. It is exciting to learn something new even if it is frustrating."
Cassidy Peterson, a student from Bureau Valley High School received a $1,000 TOO GOOD TO PASS Scholarship on 4/25/2023.

Cassidy will attend her postsecondary education at The University of North Carolina Wilmington.

"I would like to pursue a career in counseling.
As a counselor, I could be involved in a community, such as a school, use my psychology major to recognize students’ behaviors and understand them when they talk to me, and hopefully be that person that is an outlet for anyone.
Another career option would be a therapist where I could make the same type of impact on people, but I would be a part of a community with a much wider variety of people and have a more concentrated focus on my clients rather than having multiple jobs to focus on as a counselor."
