About Us
Founded in 2020, Better Families Community Care is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that supports individuals and families in need of assistance. Our mission is "to alleviate human suffering through affordable housing, counseling, and social services." It all started while helping a local lady afford her car heater repair during the winter, purchasing a water heater for a single mother, and awarding scholarships to Bureau Valley High School students. We also partnered with the Walnut, IL food pantry to provide Thanksgiving turkeys to families in need, donated winter jackets to single mothers with children, and distributed Christmas toys to children from under-resourced homes. These acts of kindness shaped our identity and helped us become the team who we are today.
